Job Growth

  • The Minimum Wage should be increased to a Livable Wage.

  • Underemployment should be supplemented by unemployment benefits.

  • Social Security should be overhauled, funded more equitably, and guarantee a Livable Pension.

  • Public Healthcare will address the Healthcare needs irrespective of employment.

  • Increased Hiring and Increased Pay will result when employers’ burden of healthcare is lifted and made public.

  • With the universal access of public healthcare and livable pensions, workers will be better equipped to choose the jobs they want, go back to school, work for themselves, and/or start new businesses.

  • Because of these public services, small businesses can prosper and compete better with big businesses.

  • Because of the public services, Self-employed workers will be able to compete better with company-employed workers.
  • Because of this system, Entrepreneurs will be better equipped to create the jobs, products, and services society needs to improve.

  • Under my Immigration Reform, illegal persons will be able to work legally in the U.S., but they must get Guest Worker ID Cards first which will make them legal Guest Workers.  Guest Workers will then be added to the pathway of full legalization; during that process, if they commit any serious crime, they will be imprisoned and/or deported.

  • Preference for Jobs will go to citizens and legal residents before guest workers.

  • The Retirement Age should be lowered to 62, to make more room for younger people to work.

  • Because tuition for higher education will end, students will not have to work as many hours in the work force, freeing up even more jobs for more people.

  • Because healthcare, higher education, and livable pensions will be free and accessible and because wages and salaries will increase as a result, families and households will be able to prosper on a one-income earner model (as was done in the past).  This will allow a spouse the option of staying home and taking care of the home and the children, thus making the children grow up better.

  • A Standard electronic/paper employment application should be implemented to create a universal system in which applicants can apply to jobs more easily, accurately, and rapidly than ever before.

  • (If some jobs applications require more information from the applicant, there would be a mechanism on the system for added information.)  (This will make hiring, promotions, and transfers quicker, easier, and more accurate.)
